Hello..., it's me

Good morning! I'm still recovering from Sunday. Physically, I'm exhausted but sprirtually, I'm still filled with the wonder of it all. Jesus was there in all of the services on Sunday. I could feel His special touch as we sang each song and bowed our heads in prayer. During the sermon I could hear Him saying..., "I love you
and I did this for you." He suffered and died for all of us because He loves us. We are not worthy of such love and sacrifice. We are like the dirty laundry that Mattie spoke about in his blog. We should have been cast aside but Jesus said.., "I'll go."
"Hallelujah For The Cross." "Had It Not Been For A Hill Called Mount Calvary. Had It Not Been For A Man Called Jesus, Then Forever My Soul Would Be Lost." Every day that the Lord gives us should be a time of praise and worship and a time that we should reach out and love others.

I'm so looking forward to Sunday. It's a time of celebration. Our Lord arose from the dead and "HE LIVES!!" "Becasue HE LIVES, I can face tomorrow."

Continue to remember the Bachman family as they deal with the loss of precious Caylyn. Remember Barb and Jim Berg as the days quickly lead to the end of Barb's suffering and Jim's struggle with life without her. Please pray for all of my CaringBridge buddies and their precious families.

The days are getting closer to our bringing Mama home! This Sunday we will be having a special Easter celebration at my niece's home and Mama will be there. She is doing great, getting stronger and more mobile every day. Please continue to lift her up in your prayers. Rose Crest- Room 202B- telephone # 599-1716.

Thanks for keeping me close to your hearts. In my mind, I still feel young but, for whatever reason, my body just doesn't want to cooperate. I love you guys so much and appreciate your friendship and love and your prayers. You are such a special group of friends and I am so blessed to have you be a part of my life.

Have a great week!!

Prayer Requests

I just found out this afternoon that one of my CaringBridge babies passed away. Her name is Caylyn Bachman. She was my little six year old that had lukemia. Please remember her parents, Cathy and Tully and her brother, Evan. Barb Berg is still very very critical also so, please remember her and husband, Jim. Please pray for all of my CB buddies who are suffering. They are very special to me.

I almost hesitate to ask this, because my health issues are nothing, compared to others who are suffering but, please remember me too. I went to my doctor for my check-up and she has put me on bedrest, NO activities, for two weeks. I still plan to sing on Sunday. She was very concerned because of my B/P. Also, my thyroid is over-active this time, which can cause an increase in my heart rate and B/P. There is a little matter of stress too. I can't imagine why?? I go back in two weeks to see how the additional meds and med changes are helping.

I took Mama to her cardiologist on Monday. He was pleased with everything but her heart rhythm. He wants to check her again in a month. He wants her to be a little stronger before he makes the decision or not to shoch her heart back into a normal rhythm. She's doing great with her P/T so, please continue to remember her. She's fussing so, she is better!!

Thanks. I love you all.

Easter

"I look at the sun, and I think of the power and majesty of God. I look on the earth where the flowers bloom, and I think of the path He trod. I look at the trees, and I think of the wood which made His cross of shame. Then I look in my heart, and see my sin, and believing, I have life through His name." Because of the shedding of His precious blood, our sins are washed away. Because of His sacrifice, we have been set free. Because He arose from the grave, we have eternal life.

Tick Tock

We lose an hour of sleep tonight so, don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour. Do you know what this means? Technically we will be arriving at church at 6:30am. Also, I'll be racing through Boiling Springs at a high rate of speed with rollers in my hair and, carefully applying my make-up. So see you bright and early in the morning!

TICK TOCK

We lose an hour tonight!! So, don't forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour. This means, instead of our being at church at 7:30am in the morning, we will technically be there at 6:30am. You know what else this means? I'll be traveling at a high rate of speed through Boiling Springs with my hair in rollers, applying my make-up, very carefully.

Why Did Jesus Fold The Napkin?

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection?

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes.

The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded and was placed at the head of that stony coffin. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, "They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him!"

Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple out ran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus head was folded up and lying to the side.

Is that important? Absolutely! Is it really significant? Yes! In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it.

The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table until the master was finished.

Now if the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers and mouth with that napkin and toss it on to the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, "I'm done." But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant knew that the folded napkin meant, "I'm not finished yet." The folded napkin meant, "I'm coming back!"

This is a promise, JESUS IS COMING BACK!! In John, Chapter 14, verses 1-3, Jesus tells the disciples, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me." He tells them that He is going to His Father's house to prepare a place for them and, "if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me."

As we approach this Easter season, let us be reminded of..., "The Cross" "The Tomb" "The Folded Napkin" "The Promise."
